Those who wish to take the ACT on April 28 during the school day, at no cost, are REQUIRED to pre-register on Monday, March 16, period 3 in the auditorium. This is the one and only pre-registration day, date and time!  Questions?  See Jan in her office, 228.

This Friday is the LAST day to register for the Russian student leadership conference.  Don’t miss this fun opportunity.  Please see Ms. Goldbloom in room 311 ASAP!

Congratulations to band students who performed in the PIL Solo and Ensemble contest last Saturday. They all did an outstanding job representing CHS. The following students will be going to State Solo Contest on May 2nd: Amanda Riler – String Bass; Melissa Patterson – Euphonium; Olivia Fields – Alto Sax.

Calling all Warriors!! Join your Cleveland High School community 4/11/15 for the 1st annual Mt. Tabor Challenge, a 5K Run/Walk to honor the legacy of 2005 Cleveland graduate, LTJG Thomas J. Cameron. Everyone and all abilities welcome! All proceeds from the race will help fund the LTJG Thomas J. Cameron Memorial Scholarship, to be awarded to two outstanding Cleveland graduates this year. COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER NEWS:
LIVE S.E.T. Free Sound Engineering Classes at Mississippi Studios – Due 3/15:
Are you interested in music production or sound engineering?  The music professionals at Mississippi Studios are looking for teen musicians, singers, beatmakers, emcees, circuit-benders, engineers, stage managers, dancers, directors or anyone who loves to bring creativity and technology together. Apply NOW to take part in a series of FREE sound engineering classes. Applications available in the CCC – due Sunday, 3/15.

FOR SENIORS:  THOMAS J. CAMERON, LTJG, Memorial Scholarship:  This year, two $1500 scholarships will be awarded in honor of Thomas Cameron, a Cleveland High School graduate, who served in the U.S. Coast Guard as a helicopter pilot. Any Cleveland High School graduating senior planning to go to an accredited college or university as a full-time student in 2015-2016 may apply. To be considered, a cumulative GPA of 3.5 is required. Applications are due 4/9, 3:15pm, to the CHS Student Services Center. Applications are available in the SSC.

Paid Summer Internship at OHSU: OHSU is looking for summer interns to work with the University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities. Students must be 16 years or older to apply. Application information is available in the CCC.

NW Career Expo Field Trip: DEADLINE EXTENDED: There is still room to sign up for the NW Youth Career Expo field trip. The registration deadline has been extended to Wednesday, 3/11. Pick up your application in the CCC and get ready to connect with local businesses!

Aviation Career Day: 4/15: Learn about careers, educational opportunities and see a variety of airplanes and helicopters on site at the Hillsboro Airport! Learn about the following career fields: Airplane Pilot; Helicopter Pilot; Flight Attendant; Aviation Management; Ramp/Ticket/Gate Agent. Information available in the CCC.

EAGLE Program – Paid Internship and Scholarship Opportunity: Sophomores! Don’t forget to apply for a program that will connect you with a summer job and the chance to compete for a full tuition scholarship to U of O! The EAGLE Program (Early Adventures in Golf for a Lifetime of Enjoyment) Program is a unique internship opportunity for sophomores. Pick up information in the CCC TODAY!
