FAQS:

What do we do at registration? Pick up student schedule, pay for suggested contributions, school pictures are taken and can be ordered at this time, and school ID cards are given out. As mentioned above due to summer construction book pick up and locker assignment* will be on different days and times (see above).
*Students who signed up with their locker partner in May will have a locker assignment on their schedule. All other students will need to attend the locker assignment day in order to receive a locker.

We are on vacation during our student’s assigned registration time, what do we do? Make up day for registration is held the 1st day of school, August 29th. You may want to have your student arrive early that day to take care of business.  Parent Vue and Student Vue will be turned on the week before the 1st day of school and you and your student should be able to view their schedule ahead of time.  The picture company will be back on Wednesday August 31st to take pictures of students who missed registration-this is when your student can order school picture packets and will receive their ID card with the bus pass on it – if you miss registration you will need to find an alternate way for them to get to school and back the first couple of days.

What is the 1st day of school? Classes will begin Monday August 29th.

If we cannot come to registration during my student’s assigned time, can we come at another time? You can come to one of the other grade level assigned times.  If you come on a date AFTER your student’s grade level has registered, make sure to let them know you are there for a different grade level when you check in.  *Students who are attending a time BEFORE their assigned time, may not be able to pick up a schedule.

My student cannot come to their assigned registration time but I am available – is that ok? Yes! You may come to the registration for your student. You will be able to do everything EXCEPT pictures of course. Picture make up day will be Wednesday August 31st during the school day – so make sure your student has their picture taken on that day so they can order picture packets and receive their student ID card with the bus pass on it.

My student is not enrolled at Cleveland HS yet, what do I need to do to enroll them? In order to enroll at Cleveland HS you must reside and be able to provide proof of residence in our district assigned neighborhood. You can check your address at the Portland Public Schools website www.pps.net -Schools & Learning-Enroll-Find your School-type your address in to the interactive school map and the schools you are assigned to will pop up on the map. If Cleveland is your assigned school, you need to bring two pieces of current official mail (i.e., bank statements, insurance statements, DMV letters, mortgage documents, etc.) to our offices. You will also fill out an official registration form along with some other documents we need here in house. Our offices will be closed for construction beginning June 16th and will not re-open again until sometime in August-check our website for updated information on the re-open date.  Our Enrollment & Transfer office at the district provides summer enrollment for schools from July 1-29, Monday-Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Feel free to visit their office during those dates and times to complete the enrollment process. All transfers are also processed through the ETC and they can be reached with questions at 503-916-3205.
